Auto Repair · Southern Illinois

Fixed where it sits — or at our place.

Shawnee Auto Repair fixes vehicles two ways: at your home or workplace for the work that can be done there, and at our location for the bigger jobs. If a serious repair needs a tow, we'll help you figure out getting it here — no waiting room, no shop markup on parts.

How it works

Four steps. Then you're back on the road.

Step 01

Request Service

Call, text, or email with your vehicle, location, and what's wrong with it.

Step 02

Written Estimate

Estimates are $25 — and that fee is waived in full if you have us do the repair. You get the estimate in writing and sign an authorization before any work starts, as the Illinois Automotive Repair Act requires.

Step 03

The Repair

Work that can be done at your location gets done there. Bigger jobs come to our place — if it needs a tow, that's figured out with you first. Anything additional found during the repair gets your approval first — never added without it.

Step 04

Pay on Completion

Nothing is due upfront. You pay when the work is finished and you've seen the itemized invoice.

Services

What's fixed on site.

Common repairs for cars, SUVs, and light trucks — done at your location when the job allows, or at our place for the bigger work. You'll know the plan before anything moves.

Diagnostics

Check-engine lights, no-starts, stalls, and electrical faults traced to the cause — not a guess and a parts list.

Brakes

Pads, rotors, calipers, hoses, and lines. Squeaks, grinding, soft pedals, and pulling.

Starters, Alternators & Batteries

Charging and starting systems tested and replaced where the vehicle sits.

Belts, Hoses & Cooling

Serpentine belts, coolant hoses, thermostats, water pumps, and overheating problems.

Steering & Suspension

Tie rods, ball joints, control arms, struts, and power steering leaks.

Electrical & Gauge Clusters

Wiring faults, dead gauges, battery drains, and cluster repair and replacement.

Fuel Delivery

Fuel pumps, filters, lines, and injector-related running problems.

Pre-Purchase Inspections

Buying a used car or truck? Get it looked over before your money changes hands.

Audio Installation & Repairs

Head units, touchscreen and Apple CarPlay upgrades, backup cameras, speakers, and hands-free Bluetooth — installed and wired right, plus repairs to existing audio systems.

Not Listed?

Ask. If it runs on gas or diesel and the repair can be done on site, it can probably be scheduled.

Straight terms

How you get charged — in plain writing.

Estimate First

Estimates are $25, waived in full if we perform the repair. Every job over $100 starts with a written estimate and your signed authorization, as Illinois law requires. The final bill can't run more than 10% past an itemized estimate without your approval.

Parts Your Way

Budget, standard, and premium parts — your choice, based on what you need and what you can spend. Either way, parts are billed at the actual price paid, itemized on your invoice. No markup line, and nothing padded into the price.

Pay at the End

Nothing due upfront. Payment is due on completion, when the work is done and the invoice is in your hand.

If we can't complete your repair

You owe us nothing — no estimate fee, no labor, no charge of any kind. And within reason, we'll help get your vehicle transported to another shop of your choice. If we take the job, we stand behind the outcome either way.

Our word

This company lives on its reputation.

Transparency isn't a policy here — it's the whole business. Shawnee Auto Repair is being built one customer at a time, on trust, workmanship, honesty, and straight answers about what your vehicle needs and what it doesn't.

Our guarantee is simple: we will do everything in our power to get you back on the road and keep you there, without you paying one dollar more than the repair actually requires. You'll see every price before you approve it, choose the parts tier that fits your budget, and never get sold work you don't need.

Jobs are worked in the order they're scheduled, so every customer gets a quality repair in fair time — no favorites, no line-jumping, no rushing your vehicle out the door to get to the next one.

Frequently asked questions

The important stuff, answered.

Do you come to me, or do I bring it to you?

Both. Repairs that can be done at your home or workplace are done there. Serious repairs come to our location — and if the vehicle needs a tow and money is an issue, we'll figure out a way to get it here. No transport happens without your approval, and you'll know the plan and the cost first.

What does an estimate cost?

$25 — and if you have us perform the repair, the estimate fee is waived in full. You only pay it if you take the estimate and have the work done somewhere else.

What if you can't complete my repair?

Then you pay nothing — no estimate fee and no labor. Within reason, we'll also help get your vehicle transported to another location of your choice.

Do I pay anything upfront?

No. Nothing is due upfront. Payment is due on completion.

How do parts get priced?

You choose the tier — budget, standard, or premium — based on your needs and budget. Whichever you pick, parts are billed at actual cost, itemized on your invoice. There is no markup on parts.

What if you find more wrong during the repair?

You get a call first. Additional repairs are never performed or charged without your consent — that's Illinois law, and it's how every job here runs.

When are you available?

Evenings and weekends, by appointment. Call, text, or email to get on the schedule.

Do you work on diesels?

Light-duty diesel diagnosis and repair is available. Heavier diesel work is handled through Ohio River Diesel Co. — ask and you'll get pointed the right way.
